Irrawaddy Dolphins - Kratie

One of pretty much the only things that people do in Kratie is see the fresh water dolphins that live just up the river from the town.
Once I got there I checked in and found a moto driver to take me to the port.
Once there I paid $9 for the boat and driver to take me out to see the dolphins


I didnt really know what to expecting to see so I went in with pretty low expectations which was probably good. I did see dolphins which I was impressed with as there are only about 15-20 left says the tourism Cambodia which I find quite probable.


There was maybe about 5 circling in the area while I was there and they only came up for short periods to take a breath. This photo captures pretty much what I saw but only from a distance.

These photos were actually really hard to get so I ended up giving up and just watching for them.
I set my camera on that high shutter function but I wasnt too worried if I didnt catch anymore pictures (i didnt). 



So my dolphin tour turned into a sun set tour which was a really great sunset.

Bali is beautiful I wish that we could have spent more time there but we ended up getting stuck on gili. Cameron Highlands - tea, tea plantations, clouds, tea leaves, some more tea

I decided my next stop would be the Cameron Highlands which is in central peninsular Malaysia. The elevation there is a lot higher so it was nice to cool down a little but from the heat that I have been used to every where else. One of the main attractions is the tea plantations. From here you can buy a cup of tea and watch them from the balcony harvesting the tea leaves and throwing them in a basket on their back. Some very nice views. You can also go walk among the tea fields where we tried cutting some leaves. Very nice balcony at the cafe. The other thing that people do is go to the look out point which is at the tallest mountain in Malaysia (so all the signs said) When we got there we discovered that it was super foggy so we couldn't really see much.   And here are some clouds that I thought were interesting enough at the time to take a picture of. Pai - Updated with pictures

I like Pai. (pronounced "bpai", say the b and the p together) Its a quiet little town, not very big, which is good cause I seem to get lost here a lot. It's a really interesting dynamic here. Everyone is super chill. all the locals just mozy around or hangout at their shops. There are lots of westerners (hippies) that seem to have just moved here. And then there are the tourists. Only the good ones though, none of the people who are just in Thailand to party (everyone in Bangkok). About every other store/stand that you see here is a T-shirt shop. They all have various shirts saying things like "Love is Pai" and "762 turns to Pai". Basically everything here celebrates that you made it to and are in Pai. All the restaurants and guesthouses have "Pai" in their name. "Pai Country" "Pai Love" "Pai Cabana". its really fun and everyone here jokes around.
