I pretty much had everything packed last night except for my carry on. Wasn’t too worried. I got up pretty early today and just hung around, ate some left over Me-n-Eds pizza (Thai chicken) and watched The Amazing Race (they were in Thailand).
Just as I’m packing up my carry on bag I discover that my iPod had decided to finally give up after what like 4 years? Yes, I repeat my 1st generation iPod touch has finally bit the dust. Here’s me thinking that i would be unbearable to go on the plane without music so i try to restore my iPod 15 min before we leave. of course it doesn't work and with all the time I wasted i didn't make sure that i had everything that i needed. I end up copying some of my music onto my laptop as I'm going out the door. as my mother and I are driving just out of the neighbourhood i realize that i forgot my charger! so we turn around and go back an grab it. I thought i had done really good before thinking i got off easy and didn't forget anything, wrong. At about the exact same street we were ion before i realize that i forgot my sheet sleeping bag. so we turn around to go get that. i couldn't figure out how i forgot something else cause when i went back to get my charger i looked around my room to see what else i might have forgotten and didn't see anything. i get back into my room and there it is lying on the middle of my bed. it blended in with my sheets cause it is made of the exact same fabric from the ones that are on my bed. And we are on our way. We make it to about New West and then it gets super backed up. turning on the radio to News 1130 we discover that literally every possible reason for Vancouver to be backed up is occurring at the same time. “it appears there is a hot tub cover in the middle of the road”, “there is a police incident on the bridge and it is down to single lane traffic” “the occupy Vancouver protesters are decided just now where they are planning to march today. Somehow with my mom and dads excellent navigation and driving we make it to the airport. Check in was surprisingly smooth and i finally got to use one of those self check in kiosks that i have always wanted to try. Right before we get to the security check i say goodbye because my parents cant go any further and it was all happy and they were giving me last min advice, and then my mom starts crying. just about balling her eyes out. “tears of joy” because she was “so happy for me”
Anyways i buy some water and then type all this.
The announcement that they are about to start boarding just came on and they are half way through the French version so i better finish up.
see you on the other side!
